How do I integrate SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud?
Integrate SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud only through released interfaces: OData and SOAP APIs and business events listed on SAP Business Accelerator Hub. Activate each one with a communication arrangement for its communication scenario, connect through SAP Integration Suite for mapping, routing and monitoring, and never rely on direct database access or unreleased function modules.
Public Cloud enforces a clean core. You cannot modify the system or call arbitrary internals, which is exactly what keeps SAP's scheduled upgrades safe for your integrations.
- Find the interface on SAP Business Accelerator Hub and note its communication scenario.
- Create a communication system and user representing the partner, usually your Integration Suite tenant.
- Create the communication arrangement to activate the scenario for that system.
- Build the flow in Integration Suite with standard error handling, retry and monitoring.
- Use events where consumers only need to react to changes, through Enterprise Event Enablement.
If no released API covers your requirement, look for an alternative API or event, expose data through a custom CDS view and custom communication scenario, or build a custom service with ABAP Cloud on released objects. Then plan regression testing around each SAP release. For architecture, authentication and upgrade planning, read the S/4HANA Public Cloud integration guide, and compare interface styles in OData vs SOAP.
